History of Dapper Dog

Dapper Dog Pet Grooming was opened by Shane Marshall in 2002.  Shane graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Studies in 1992. After working several years in the field of mental health care, Shane decided to pursue her true passion of working with animals. In 1997, she took a job as a vet assistant in a small animal clinic.  She dreamed of owning her own business someday, while continuing to work with animals. In 2000, she attending Animal Arts Academy in Carmel, Indiana.  In 2002, Dapper Dog Pet Grooming was opened.  In 2005, Shane moved the business back to her hometown in Terre Haute.  As a vet assistant, she always enjoyed caring for the pets that stayed overnight, and making sure their time spent in the hospital or kennel was as comfortable as possible. So, when she returned to Terre Haute, she began offering boarding services as well as pet grooming.  Making sure that the pet’s individual needs are addressed during a grooming process or an overnight stay are the highest priority.  Also, personalized customer service is viewed as an extremely important part of the overall pet and customer experience.
